Answers To Our Most Common Questions
Is it safe to get a tattoo in Bangkok?
Yes, in most cases and for most people, Tattoos are completely safe. One of the important things to ensure is that the Studio you visit strictly adheres to the Universal Precautions and Blood Borne Pathogen Safety.
At All Day Tattoo, we require each artist to put their client’s safety as their absolute top priority. We have the highest levels of sterilization possible in our work areas, and use new disposable needles and tubes for every client that come packed from totally sterile environments, rather than sterilizing and re-using. You can read about this in more detail here
In Thailand tattoo studios are required to undergo a very detailed and intensive process to gain a license to tattoo. We are one of the very few studios who has gone through and been approved by this process.
As with all good tattoo studios, we do provide a consent/waiver form for our clients which identifies some rare circumstances where it would be inappropriate for the client to get a tattoo, but for most people this isn’t an issue.
Does it hurt?
Let’s just be honest here, yes it hurts! But evidently it isn’t unbearable pain or you wouldn’t see so many people walking around with tattoos.
As for what it feels like? Different people describe the sensations in different ways, and it varies depending on which body part is being worked on. Some people even enjoy it!
A big part of our process is making sure that our customers are relaxed and understand what’s going on at all times. This really helps to reduce any stress and therefore any pain involved in the process.
From your first contact with our team until the moment you walk out the door, every step is designed to make it a relaxing, enjoyable and memorable experience.
I have a specific design in mind, can your artists draw something up for me?
Yes! All Day Tattoo is a custom tattoo studio. Although we have plenty of artwork available for you to look at for inspiration, most customers bring us their rough ideas and together with our team and their artist create something that they’re truly excited about putting onto their bodies.
I have something specific/a specific design that I want tattooed, can you do that?
Yes, we can do that for you. Your artist will help you to make any small tweaks or changes that might help the tattoo look better in your chosen location, or to help it age well, but we are here to give you what you want!
How much will it cost?
There is no fixed answer for this question (as much as we’d love to give you one!).
The price really depends on both the size of the piece and the detail involved in it. Not all pieces can be completed in one sitting, which can also affect the price.
To give you some general idea, our tattoos start at 2,500 Baht minimum and our hourly rate starts at 3,000 Baht.
As a last note on this – if someone is offering to do your tattoo for cheap BEWARE! The old phrase “you get what you pay for” really applies here. The odds of a truly great tattoo artist valuing their time cheaply are next to zero, and remember, it will be on your body forever, so it’s worth getting it right the first time.
What is your deposit policy?
It is our policy to collect a deposit when booking your appointment. We accept payments online or in cash at our studio.
The deposit rate is approximately 25% of your estimated total tattoo cost (minimum 1,000 Baht).
The deposit will come off of the final cost of your tattoo (for multiple session tattoos, it will come off the last session) and helps both to spread the cost of your tattoo, and to secure your artist’s time.
A tattoo that has been booked and a deposit paid can be moved one time with a minimum of 48 hours notice.
Please note that if you cancel, are more than 30 minutes late to your appointment or don’t show up, your deposit will be lost. They are not refundable under any circumstances.
Are there any special requirements to get tattooed?
You must be over the age of 18 to get tattooed and may be asked to provide I.D. No exceptions!
I have a tattoo that's really bad. Can it be covered up or fixed?
In most cases our artists are able to fix or cover up most tattoos, even ones that are REALLY bad! In most cases, after they’re done, you wouldn’t even be able to tell that the original one was there at all.
We are always honest in these situations. If we don’t think that we can cover up a tattoo successfully, we will work with you to find a solution that you will be ultimately happy with.
One of our core principles is to never do a tattoo just to make money!
Our artists are true artists in every sense of the word. They have dedicated their lives to delivering tattoos that their clients are happy with and every single piece of work they do is a reflection on them for the rest of their career. So your satisfaction is very important.
I'd like to be tattooed by you! How do I organize that?
In the first instance, it’s fine for you to either get in touch with us through email or our Facebook page to discuss your requirements, or just to drop by the studio anytime we’re open.
We will then book you for a tattoo, or if necessary for a consultation first.
If you live outside of Bangkok feel free to just contact us through the internet and we can take it from there.
Discussions and consultations are free of charge, however we will require a deposit to hold your spot for you when you book your tattoo.
Can you give me a quote for my tattoo?
I see most of the tattoos on your site are quite large, can I get a smaller piece?
Yes, we do all shapes and sizes don’t worry! The portfolios are there to give our clients some idea of our artist’s work, but that doesn’t mean what you see is all they can do.
I don't live in Bangkok but would like to get a tattoo with you when I'm visiting, is this possible?
Can I bring a friend with me when I get tattoed?
Absolutely, but they will need to wait in our reception area (we have couches, TV and free wifi, so they’ll be comfortable!)
It’s in everyone’s best interests that your artist is able to concentrate 100% on his artwork, so nobody except you and your artist will be allowed in the tattoo area.
Do you do piercings?
No we do not.
Can I get a white ink tattoo?
White ink is known for it’s questionable longevity, so while we’ll work with you to help you get a tattoo you’re happy with, as a studio we recommend staying away from white ink only tattoos unless you’re happy with the fact they’ll likely fade over time.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Absolutely! We have vouchers starting from 3,000 Baht and they are valid for 6 months from the purchase date.
You can pick them up at the shop or by contacting us online.
Do you accept credit cards?
Cash only please!
How do I get tattooed at a convention?
Details of any convention we are at will be posted on the blog.
How do you sterilize your instruments.
Many of the instruments that our artists use is single use only, including our needles, tubes, grips, ink cups and gloves. The tattoo space itself (like the chair you sit on) is thoroughly disinfected after every use. We take your safety and that of our fellow artists very seriously.
You can read all about our hygiene and safety standards here
Do you accept walk ins?
Do you do Ultraviolet (UV)/Blacklight tattoos?
We no longer offer UV tattoos.
After conducting tests (on ourselves!) and speaking to other artists throughout the world, we don’t believe these inks have really proven their safety or longevity to a level where we’re confident to use them with our clients. Safety and quality are our number 1 priority.
Where do your inks come from?
All of our inks are imported from market leading brands in the USA.
We never comprimize the safety, quality and longevity of our customer’s tattoos but using poor quality Chinese inks.
